Obama Launches Military Offensive -Anti-War Left: "Ooh, look! Shiny!"

Characterize it however you like, but Barack Obama just launched a military offensive against the sovereign state of Libya. Without a declaration of war from Congress.
Let me say up front, I don't have a problem with that. He is the President. Sometimes, Presidents must take swift and decisive action (stop laughing!). And though Obama's actions here have not been all that swift, or all that decisive, at least he has finally done something!
Side note: When the French are leading the military action and America is providing only support, who looks more like the leader of the Free World? Barack Obama or Nicolas Sarkozy?
What I'm wondering now, is whether or not the hypocritical Left (but I repeat myself) will denounce Obama for this in the same way they denounced Bush. They have pretty much given Obama a pass on the continuing war in Afghanistan, even as American casualties rise. (Whatever happened to reciting the names of fallen soldiers on TV, printing them in Doonesbury?) Obama has given de facto blessing to George Bush's Gitmo policy and now, launches a military offense against yet another nation that has, as the Left is wont to say, "not attacked us". (At least, not lately!)
I sincerely hope that the French and the British, with our help, can bring peace and stability to Libya. Maybe even plant the seeds for a fledgling democracy.
And I'd also like to see whether or not all the criticism of George W. Bush was just window dressing, as a means of gaining power for the Left or if there is anyone who will stand on principle on the Left, no matter how misguided.

Free Speech for Me, But Not for Thee!
Union Protester Arrested For Trying to Sabotage Tea Party Sound System

Racists of the Left Fear, Attack Herman Cain
Despicable doesn't even begin to describe this (via Hot Air):
"Monkey in the window"? A scum sucking liberal writing for the site "AlterNet", which I shall not link to here, trots out every racist slur they can imagine and then projects them onto conservatives. To me, this much vitriol* must be genuine and heartfelt, not imagined. This may be due in part, because they have an "alternate" reality in which black is white, right is wrong and intolerance is tolerance.
When it comes to race relations in America, and matters of racial prejudice:

In the immortal words of Megatron in Transformers: The Movie, Herman Cain’s speech at CPAC really is bad comedy. As you know, I findblack garbage pail kidsblack conservatives fascinating not because of what they believe, but rather because of how they entertain and perform for their White Conservative masters.
When race minstrelsy was America’s most popular form of mass entertainment, black actors would often have to pretend to be white men, who then in turn would put on the cork to play the role of the “black” coon, Sambo, or Jumping Jim Crow. Adding insult to injury, in a truly perverse and twisted example of the power of American white supremacy black vaudevillians would often pretend to be white in order to denigrate black people for the pleasures of the white gaze. …
In total, CPAC is a carnival and a roadshow for reactionary Conservatives. It is only fitting that in the great tradition of the freak show, the human zoo, the boardwalk, and the great midway world’s fairs of the 19th and 20th centuries, that there is a Borneo man, a Venus Hottentot or a tribe of cannibals from deepest darkest Africa or Papua New Guinea on display. For CPAC and the White Conservative imagination, Herman Cain and his black and brown kin are that featured attraction.
We always need a monkey in the window, for he/she reminds us of our humanity while simultaneously reinforcing a sense of our own superiority. Sadly, there are always folks who are willing to play that role because it pays so well.

Casualties in Aghanistan Under Obama Exceed Those Under Eight Years of Bush

via Gateway Pundit
As was pointed out a little over a month ago (Staff Sgt.Brian Piercy Laid to Rest),July set a record for the most US casualties in Afghanistan in a single month, breaking the previous record that was set the month before in June, yet the MSM was for the most part conspicuous in their silence on the matter.
What a difference two years makes! A couple of years ago, every casualty in Iraq was front page news. Tallies of casualties could be seen on the front pages of newspapers, commentators would slowly recite the names of the fallen, even Doonesbury would print a list in the Sunday comics. It was Bush's war then, and people needed to see just how heartless he was wasting the precious lives of our service men and women over there!
Where is Code Pink? Where are the Cindy Sheehans of the Left? Why is no one camped out on the road to Martha's Vineyard, or his Hawaiian vacation villa, or the many golf courses he frequents? Is it that there are just too many of them? Or was it never really about the deaths of soldiers for the Left? Was it all just a crass excuse to try to gain and retain political power for themselves and their cronies by playing on our sympathies?
And now, that there have been more casualties in the last twenty months than were seen in eight years of George W. Bush, one would think that the same players, if their protests were genuine and sincere, would be every bit as vociferous against the current president as they were against the last president, wouldn't you?
As I stated in the post "Obama Has His Own Halliburton":
It was always my contention that nearly every criticism of Bush during the Iraqi war could have been leveled at Clinton in the Balkans but wasn't. Expect the same deafening silence from those who did not criticize Halliburton under Clinton, criticized it under Bush and will fall silent once again for this Democrat President under the sheer weight of their own hypocrisy!
I haven't heard a snarky reference to Halliburton and Bush in...nearly minutes!
War involves casualties. Each and every loss of American service men or innocent civilians is a tragedy in its own right. But, in the interest of honesty, isn't this hypocrisy writ large when the so called "anti-war" movement is absent under Clinton, vociferous under Bush and silent again under Obama?

Environmentalist Whacko Killed After Assaulting Discovery Channel

One more Inconvenient Truth
Just a few days ago, David Neiwert of Crooks and Liars (He doesn't strike me as being a "crook"!) told us with much snark, that as Beck looked out over the audience and saw "the next George Washington", Neiwert looked at the same group and "I mostly thought I saw 'the next Timothy McVeigh'." What is it the Bible says about removing the beam from your own eye before you try to take a splinter out of someone else's?
Sadly, the story today is not of some tightly wound kookburger on the right, but rather on the Left.
SILVER SPRING, Md. — Police shot and killed a gunman who held three hostages for several hours Wednesday at the Discovery Communications building in Silver Spring, Md., authorities said. They said the hostages were safe.
At least one explosive device on his body went off when he was shot, and other explosive devices could still be in the building in Montgomery County in suburban Washington, D.C., Montgomery County police Chief Thomas Manger said. It was not clear whether there was any damage.
James Jay Lee was an environmentalist whacko and a long time protester of the Discovery Channel. Back in February of '08,
Lee said...that he experienced an ‘‘awakening” when he watched former Vice President Al Gore’s environmental documentary ‘‘An Inconvenient Truth.”Al Gore is getting to be required reading for violent kookburgers on the Left!
Lee's rambling manifesto to the Discovery Channel, in part:
Focus must be given on how people can live WITHOUT giving birth to more filthy human children since those new additions continue pollution and are pollution.
...All programs on Discovery Health-TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants and the false heroics behind those actions. In those programs' places, programs encouraging human sterilization and infertility must be pushed. All former pro-birth programs must now push in the direction of stopping human birth, not encouraging it.
So, here you have a fellow who would fit in nicely at any Green Party rally, Planned Parenthood rally, or any Greenpeace demonstration, bringing explosive devices to the Discovery Channel because they weren't extreme enough to deal with the fever swamp frenzy induced by the gloom and doom prophets of global warmism and environmentalist fear mongering.
Another thing the Bible says, is that you reap what you sow.
It's harvest time for enviro-nutjobs.
