Moore: Protesters Have 'Aroused a Sleeping Giant'

Mr. Moore: How much do you actually know about what you're talking about?

Yes, Michael Moore, that scion of dishonest editing and legendary corpulence has told a crowd of cheering Lilliputians that they have awakened a "sleeping giant".

Protesters in Madison have "aroused a sleeping giant" in the national fight for workers' rights, filmmaker Michael Moore told thousands at the Capitol Square on Saturday, as rallies opposing Gov. Scott Walker's budget proposals wrapped up their third week. "Right now the Earth is shaking and the ground is shifting under the feet of those who are in charge," said Moore, the Oscar-winning maker of "Bowling for Columbine," whose documentaries also include "Fahrenheit 911" and "Capitalism: A Love Story." "America is not broke ... Wisconsin is not broke," Moore said. "The only thing that's broke is the moral compass of the rulers."

Like nearly everything else, Moore gets this all completely backwards. The country is broke. Many of the states are broke, and the "sleeping giant" they have awakened is the American taxpayer, who is expected to pick up the tab for the large living of those in the public sector.

Mr. Moore may be shielded from the unpleasantries of unemployment and government spending run amok, thanks to the millions garnered from his fauxcumentaries, but if he would ever crack open a book or a newspaper (anything but another package of Ho-Ho's), he might learn that spending more than one takes in leads to poverty...being "broke", in the vernacular. His favorite president has spent the country to the near brink of disaster, pushed farther and faster by pandering to the "Green" Wing of the Democrat party.

Moore is clearly either delusional in his grasp of the current Obama economy and mood of the taxpaying public, or he's testing the waters to see just how brain dead his fans are, to gauge how far removed from reality his next fauxcumentary* can be and still make money.

* Fauxcumentary: Art form developed by Michael Moore, using dishonest editing to propagandize whichever cause he feels will make him the most money. Sometimes abbreviated "Faux cu".

You have to love how Maddow just sits there and listens....like Moore is the Oracle of the Left, some kind of pharao-esque spiritual leader with transcendental thoughts....oh, he's so brilliant.

It's amazing that Michael Moore cites statistics of low crime rates in areas of the country where there is also high rates of gun ownership. Why do you think that is, Mr. Moore? Could it be precisely because these areas have high gun ownership? Why do areas like Los Angeles and Washington DC -- places with the most stringent gun control laws -- also have the highest incidents of "gun violence"?

I would so love to sit down with this guy at a burger joint (he'd have to buy, I don't think I could afford it otherwise), and have a back and forth, reasoned debate; a non sequitir-free zone. I wonder what it would look like? I wonder how Moore and would argue against my assertion that the right to bear arms is as basic and fundamental a right as freedom of speech and even more, that the bearing of arms -- by good, decent, lawful citizens -- is actually the most effective crime prevention program ever invented in the history of the free world?

WikiLeaks: Cuba Banned Sicko for Depicting 'Mythical' Healthcare System

Cuba banned Michael Moore's 2007 documentary, Sicko, because it painted such a "mythically" favourable picture of Cuba's healthcare system that the authorities feared it could lead to a "popular backlash", according to US diplomats in Havana.

I've always said that liberals were irony impaired, but can you see the irony in banning a film that was supposedly a "documentary", (Redundancy alert!) a film which supposedly, honestly depicts things as they really are, being banned because the subjects of the documentary might react negatively to the fact that it simply wasn't true? In fact, it was so far from true as to be described as "mythical"? That such care was NOT available to them?

The revelation, contained in a confidential US embassy cable released by WikiLeaks , is surprising, given that the film attempted to discredit the US healthcare system by highlighting what it claimed was the excellence of the Cuban system.

But the memo reveals that when the film was shown to a group of Cuban doctors, some became so "disturbed at the blatant misrepresentation of healthcare in Cuba that they left the room".

Castro's government apparently went on to ban the film because, the leaked cable claims, it "knows the film is a myth and does not want to risk a popular backlash by showing to Cubans facilities that are clearly not available to the vast majority of them."

Wow. Aren't documentary makers supposed to, I don't know, document stuff? When you start making stuff up to make a point, don't you slip over into becoming a propagandist?

The cable describes a visit made by the FSHP to the Hermanos Ameijeiras hospital in October 2007. Built in 1982, the newly renovated hospital was used in Michael Moore's film as evidence of the high-quality of healthcare available to all Cubans.

But according to the FSHP, the only way a Cuban can get access to the hospital is through a bribe or contacts inside the hospital administration. "Cubans are reportedly very resentful that the best hospital in Havana is 'off-limits' to them," the memo reveals.

According to the FSHP, a more "accurate" view of the healthcare experience of Cubans can be seen at the Calixto Garcia Hospital. "FSHP believes that if Michael Moore really wanted the 'same care as local Cubans', this is where he should have gone," the cable states.

A 2007 visit by the FSHP to this "dilapidated" hospital, built in the 1800s, was "reminiscent of a scene from some of the poorest countries in the world," the cable adds.

Conservatives have known for a long time that Moore was a big, fat liar, er, a large, dietary and factually challenged individual. His dishonest editing of his earlier work should have gotten him kicked out of Hollywood.

The irony becomes complete, when you consider that Michel Moore has offered to go the bail on the wikileaker himself, Julian Assange. Well, before this latest "leak" he was!

On his website today Michael Moore has said that Cuba did not ban his documentary,

Because, denial is not just a river in Egypt.

Update: Moore claims: "The entire nation of Cuba was shown the film on national television"

Unfortunately, The entire nation of Cuba does not own television sets. 75-80% of the population does not. I would imagine that the top 20-25% of income earners have both TVs and access to better health care than the populace at large.

I'll have to look into that statistic, and see if it is households with (a) TV set or just the number of TVs per capita. If it is the latter, then, anyone with multiple sets would mean an even smaller percentage of the populace would have access to anything broadcast.

LCR Exclusive: Director Mike Wilson of Michael Moore Hates America

Recently I just happened to come across a brilliant conservative documentary titled Michael Moore Hates America via Netflix on the family Wii console. Filmed in 2004 but still highly relevant, the movie was charming, interesting, funny and best of all - entertaining. The flick didn't brow beat it's particular angle on iconic leftist Michael Moore but more or less laid things out in a fair way - despite the title.


After viewing Michael Moore Hates America (and loving it), I put on my Google-search-cap and hunted down director Mike Wilson's contact. I wanted to fire him off a atta-boy and a quick request for an interview. Proving that sometimes all you have to do is ask - Mr. Wilson quickly responded and accepted my invitation for a Q&A.
